Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Dracula Therapy

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) or Dracula Therapy™ injections involve no foreign substances. PRP harnesses the regenerative power of your own blood cells and your body’s own healing and repair processes to achieve facial skin improvement and a more youthful-looking complexion. It’s also suitable for both men and women.

By using the platelet rich plasma, derived from a sample of your own blood, this revolutionary repair system places an abundance of growth factors and pre-stem cells into the exact location where we want the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself - naturally.

Kerry, our aesthetic nurse, has over 5 years’ experience with PRP (Dracula Therapy™) treatments. She has treated various areas including the face, neck, hands and shoulders; in fact, you can treat any part of the body with Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy. Kerry has also used the treatment to address scarring and she highly recommends it for feet and the back area.

PRP is a 100% NATURAL PROCEDURE. It doesn’t use any animal-derived products, plant-based ingredients, or any other foreign materials or medicines. It simply uses part of your own blood, a sample of which is drawn from your arm prior to treatment. The plasma, which is rich in the growth factor containing platelets, is then extracted from your blood using a centrifuge to spin it at high speed to separate the blood into its constituent parts. We discard the red blood cells and other blood products, and use only the golden plasma, which is re-injected into the target zones. Research and clinical data shows that PRP obtained from the patient’s own blood is safe, with very minimal risk of adverse complications.

PRP Dracula™ Therapy Questions

  • How does Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy work?

A small amount of blood is drawn, from a vein in your arm, into a sterile tube. This is performed in the exact same manner as a standard blood test that you may have experienced when visiting your GP surgery. The tube containing your blood sample is then placed into a centrifuge machine which spins it around at very high speeds. This separates the plasma and platelets from the other blood components, such as red blood cells. The plasma is a golden colour and remains at the top of the tube after the centrifuge is complete.

After a few minutes, the plasma and the concentrated platelets can be removed from the tube by drawing them up into a syringe. This golden liquid can then be re-introduced, or re-injected, into the targeted areas to repair scars, skin imperfections and address ageing lines and wrinkles. By placing the PRP back into the body, in the exact places where we want it to activate the body’s natural healing and repair mechanisms, we can stimulate the production of new collagen and skin cells by flooding the area with growth factor rich platelets.

  • Is PRP safe?

Platelet Rich Plasma is 100% natural as it uses components from your own blood, rather than synthetically manufactured, plant- or animal-derived materials. Research and clinical data has shown that PRP obtained from a person’s own blood is safe, with very minimal risk of adverse complications.

BECAUSE THE PLATELETS ARE OBTAINED FROM YOUR OWN BLOOD, THERE IS NO RISK OF REJECTION OR BLOOD-BORNE DISEASE TRANSMISSION.

  • What is PRP Dracula Therapy?

PRP stands for Platelet Rich Plasma. It is a composition of your own blood that contains a higher concentration of platelets which are essential in the healing of the skin, ligaments, tendons, muscles and joints in the body. These cells can be reintroduced to areas of the body requiring repair.

  • What will happen during PRP Therapy?

Our specialist, state-of-the-art system takes just a small sample of your blood (about 20ml). After extracting the Platelet Rich Plasma from the blood, we inject it into the area of the face, neck or other area requiring rejuvenation.

  • Which facial and body areas can be treated with PRP?

    • Crinkling skin around and under the eyes
    • Cheeks and the whole face
    • Neck
    • Jaw Line
    • Chest and Décolletage
    • Back of the hands and arms
    • Stretch marks, wounds and scars
    • To stimulate hair growth on the scalp
    • Any area of the body

  • How long does the treatment take?

    It takes about 30-45 minutes.

  • How many treatments and how often is PRP therapy needed?

While responses to treatment vary, most people will require 1 - 3 separate treatment sessions. Each treatment appointment is spaced approximately 4 - 6 weeks apart. There is no limit to the number of treatments you can have.

Our nurse, Kerry, will determine your treatment programme according to your skin condition and the results that you are aiming to achieve.

  • Are results immediate?

No. The immediate result that you will notice in the first 24 hours is simply swelling caused by the addition of the PRP fluid and the injections. Over the coming days and weeks, the platelets will release the growth factors and pre-stem cells contained within them and this will assist in the stimulation of new collagen growth. You will notice improvements in your skin between each treatment session. Additional treatment sessions are usually scheduled every 4 to 6 weeks.

  • How long do results last?

Treatment results vary, depending on the individual and the area of the body being treated. However, for most people the results last up to 18 months. We recommend touch-up treatments to maintain the results every 6 to 8 months.

  • Are there any side effects from PRP facial rejuvenation?

You can expect minimal swelling, bruising and redness for 12 - 24 hours after PRP injections. There may also be some little bruises at the needle insertion sites which may be visible for 2 - 3 days.

  • How much does it cost?

£500 per treatment or 4 treatments for £1,200.
